The Apostles in King's College, Cambridge

On Easter Saturday 7 April, the Philharmonia Chorus performed Elgar's oratorio The Apostles with the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Stephen Cleobury in the Chapel of King's College. The Apostles was the result of a commission from the Birmingham Triennial Festival, and was premiered at that Festival in 1903. The first performance in King's College Chapel was in 1906. This concert formed part of this year's Easter at Kings Festival, and was recorded by BBC Radio 3 for later transmission.
