Handel's Messiah at
St James's Sussex Gardens

On Saturday 10 December the Philharmonia Chorus performed Part 1 of Handel's Messiah in St James's Sussex Gardens in London. The solos in this concert were sung by members of the Philharmonia Chorus Student Scheme. Our Student Scheme is the first rung on the professional ladder for students of singing at music colleges and universities. In addition to performing as members of the Chorus in concerts, opportunities for solo performances arise from time to time, as in this concert. Accompaniment was provided by Timothy End, and the performance was conducted by Gavin Carr.
